The Freedom & Fairness Initiative

Universal Healthcare

Healthcare is a basic human right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. The United States spends more on healthcare than any other developed nation, yet millions of Americans are one diagnosis away from financial ruin. A for-profit system that prioritizes insurance company profits over patient outcomes is not a healthcare system. It is a broken business model built on the backs of working families. Every American deserves access to affordable, high-quality care regardless of income or employment status, and no one should ever have to choose between paying rent and getting the treatment they need.

Affordable Housing

Expand access to affordable housing, protect renters’ rights, and support first-time homebuyers to combat homelessness and housing insecurity. Implement policies that prevent private equity firms and institutional investors from acquiring residential properties at scale, which drives up prices and reduces availability for families seeking homeownership. Housing should be a human right, not a speculative investment asset.

Living Wages

No full-time worker should struggle to make ends meet. This policy ties wages to inflation and local living costs, ensuring economic freedom for workers.

Businesses that fail to meet living wage standards will face tax penalties, while those that prioritize fair pay will receive targeted incentives. A national commission will review and adjust wage benchmarks annually to keep pace with economic realities.

Public Education Reform

Every child deserves a quality education regardless of their zip code or family income. Public schools must be fully and equitably funded, with teacher pay that reflects the value educators bring to our communities. We must protect public education from the diversion of taxpayer dollars to private institutions, ensure curriculum is grounded in fact and critical thinking, and give parents, teachers, and communities a voice in how our children are educated. Corporations and political agendas have no place making those decisions.

Childcare Reform

Affordable, accessible childcare is not a luxury. It is an economic necessity. The cost of childcare has become a barrier that forces parents, especially mothers, out of the workforce and deepens inequality. We must expand publicly supported childcare options, ensure childcare workers receive fair wages, and treat early childhood development as the public investment it truly is.

Dismantle Super PAC’s

Not only do Super PACs enable the flow of dark money into our political system, but they also distort democratic representation by giving disproportionate influence to wealthy donors and special interests, regardless of how transparent their funding may be. True political equity requires eliminating these entities altogether to ensure every voice carries equal weight in our democracy.

Election Fairness

Protect voting rights, expand access to the ballot, and modernize election infrastructure to ensure every vote counts. We must also outlaw partisan gerrymandering, as fair and equal voting districts are essential to a functioning democracy where every voice is heard and every vote has equal weight. Voter suppression in any form is an attack on democracy itself. Polling locations must be accessible, early voting must be expanded, and automatic voter registration should be the standard. Elections should reflect the will of the people, not the will of whoever drew the map.

Campaign Finance Reform

Cap campaign spending and reduce individual candidate donations to reduce the unfair influence of wealthy donors and corporations in political campaigns. When a billionaire can write a check that drowns out the voices of millions of ordinary citizens, we no longer have a democracy. We have an auction. Public campaign financing would level the playing field and allow qualified candidates to run for office based on the strength of their ideas, not the size of their donor list. No candidate should be beholden to the wealthy few before they ever cast a single vote on behalf of the people.

Break Up Media Conglomerates

Promote media diversity and independence by preventing monopolistic control over news and information. A healthy democracy depends on a free and diverse press. When a handful of corporations control what most Americans see, hear, and read, the public’s ability to make informed decisions is compromised. We must reinstate policies that ensure fair and honest representation across all public media, limit the concentration of media ownership, and protect local news outlets that serve as the watchdogs of their communities. An informed citizenry is not possible without a truly free press.

Restore Community Jobs

Encourage companies and corporations to invest in U.S. communities by implementing policies that discourage offshoring of jobs and operations. Businesses that relocate their workforce or facilities overseas will face progressive tax penalties, while those that build and sustain local employment, infrastructure, and community engagement will receive targeted tax incentives. This initiative aims to restore the economic and social benefits of having businesses rooted in the communities they serve—strengthening local economies, increasing job stability, and fostering long-term growth.
